Jim Minor Promoted to Vice President/COO of Baldwin and Shell Construction Company

President and CEO, Scott Copas announced that Jim Minor, a twenty-four-year veteran with Baldwin and Shell Construction Company, has been promoted to Vice President/COO. Minor, who currently resides in Springdale and serves on the company’s board and as Vice President over their Northwest Arkansas Division will make the move to Little Rock to take over the operations of the 71-year-old company.

Copas said, “It is a true honor to have Jim in this position, he has been a loyal and critical member of our team since 1994.” Minor stated, “My mentors reside at Baldwin & Shell. Scott Copas, Patrick Tenney and Bob Shell have been more than employers, they have been true friends to me that have helped me to grow both professionally and personally.”

Jim’s accomplishments and professional history include:

  • Started his career with Baldwin and Shell in 1994
  • Earned a Commercial Construction degree from Pulaski Tech and a BS in Construction Engineering from UALR
  • Serves on the Construction Management Department Advisory Board at John Brown University
  • Serves on the Advisory Board of Construction Technology and on the Executive Committee of NWACC
  • Has experience both in the field and in the office. Projects include medical, office, education, athletics, hospitality, industrial, churches and correctional facilities to name a few
  • Jim started with the company as a Carpenter’s Assistant and went through the ranks to Project Coordinator, Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, Vice President of the NWA team and now to Vice President/COO
  • Jim is a Certified Contract Administrator, CCCA with Construction Specifications Institute
  • Jim has his Healthcare Construction Certificate from the American Society for Healthcare Engineering of the American Hospital Association (ASHE)

Jim’s Community Involvement include:

  • Serves on the board of directors of the Children’s Safety Center in Springdale
  • Member of Fellowship Fayetteville Church
