Sustainability is a guiding principle of Baldwin & Shell. We are committed to serving as an example by integrating environmental awareness and responsibility throughout our company and for our clients. In fact, we were the first contractor in the state to build and occupy a LEED® Gold company headquarters building.
Green Building
Baldwin & Shell is an industry leader in sustainable construction, helping our clients get the buildings they want with the environmentally friendly features we all need. As our clients increasingly make sustainability a core philosophy, they want a contractor who shares those same values.
Green building is much more than reducing energy use and improving air quality. To us, sustainable design and construction is a whole-building approach, where each design decision affects the overall building performance. We focus on the interrelationship of the various building systems – plumbing and HVAC, electrical, structure, exterior building envelope construction and interior finishes. Green construction benefits the builders, the building’s future occupants, and, of course, the environment. Baldwin & Shell has aided the sustainability efforts of many of our customers by constructing green facilities and sharing lessons learned. In several cases, we’ve exceeded clients’ sustainability goals by proposing and implementing creative strategies to improve the performance of their buildings.
We employ more than 20 LEED-accredited professionals and have built numerous environmentally friendly construction projects, including projects in the higher education sector and business sector.
