Arkansas State Capitol South Stair

The restoration of the South Barrel Vault and Grand Stair at the Arkansas State Capitol was the first phase in restoring the building’s original finishes in the South and North wings.

The construction of the South Stair included painting analysis that was done to determine the original paint colors, along with decorative accents. The original barrel vault glass was cleaned, with ventilation added to alleviate excessive heat. During the process, the marble walls were cleaned and re-grouted.
