Benton High School Track & Field
Type: Renovation | Category: K-12 Education | Square footage: 82,000
This project delivered a new running track for Benton High School through an overlay of the existing surface, extending the life and performance of a uniquely large high school track.
The original track measured approximately 82,000 square feet and included two D‑zones, one located behind each football end zone.
The Benton School District selected a bold, high‑contrast color scheme featuring a black main track surface with gray exchange zones and gray runways. To begin the overlay process, our trade partner, Hellas Construction, ground the top layer of the existing track and completed all required repairs identified during surface preparation. Once the new surface was installed, the project team coordinated directly with the Athletic Director and coaching staff to finalize the striping layout.
Originally scheduled to run from May 20 through July 15 to allow completion before the school year, the project finished well ahead of schedule. Hellas Construction mobilized during the week of May 20 and achieved substantial completion by June 21, returning the upgraded track to service ahead of summer athletic activities.
