Convergence Plaza is the first phase of an innovative outdoor destination designed to engage children and adults through art, play, and exploration

Located directly behind the Art Park Parking Deck, the project creates a functional gathering area that supports public use while connecting visitors to the museum grounds. The plaza includes a variety of constructed landscape elements such as moss boulders, fountains, limestone retaining walls, and clay and stone pavers. These features provide both circulation and seating areas while supporting informal gathering and programmed activities. The plaza also serves as a transition point between the parking deck and the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.

The project team carefully planned construction activities to protect existing trees and natural features throughout the site. Rather than replacing the surrounding landscape, the work integrated new hardscape and site elements into the existing wooded setting. The completed plaza provides a durable, accessible outdoor space that supports community use and enhances campus connectivity.
