Type: Renovation | Category: K-12 Education | Square footage: 42,000
The Alton Real Time Safety Center involved the demolition and renovation of a 42,000-square-foot existing elementary school to create a state-of-the-art Real Time Safety Center for the Memphis-Shelby County School District.
The project included comprehensive interior renovations, exterior upgrades, and site improvements, all completed in less than 8 months while staff remained on site. Key scope items included the complete demolition of the main floor with a tenant infill and the transformation of the former cafeteria into a modern conference space. The facility was fully integrated with advanced security and technology systems, enabling district staff to monitor all schools in real time from one centralized location. This project successfully combined complex renovation work, operational continuity, and cutting-edge technology to provide a secure and highly functional facility for the district.
